The Coast of the Gods
From such a height, suspended above the water, you truly get the impression of inhabiting the Olympus of the gods. It is the coast that ancient peoples populated with divinities: the Sirens of the Sirenuse below, Ulysses bound to the ship’s mast, the path that is still called the Path of the Gods today. “Divino” guards that legacy, the Divine Coast, as Grand Tour travellers called it.
The Fortified House
This was never just a simple house, but a small fortress: the “Manor” of a wealthy landowner, built in the sixteenth century when pirates came from the sea before guests did. Thick walls, narrow stairs cut into the rock, and rooms facing inward, far away from the water because it represented a danger. Restored since 2007 with respect for the genius loci, those walls still reveal all their strength.
It is la dolce vita, kept and offered to whoever knows how to seek it.
