Finding us
Divino Maniero stands on the cliffside at Furore, between Amalfi and Positano, in one of the last quiet corners of this coast. The village is fifty metres away; Amalfi is eight kilometres, Positano twelve.
We arrange transfers for every arrival, and we recommend letting us do it. The coast road is beautiful and narrow, and after a long flight it is far better enjoyed from the passenger seat.
The descent
The villa is reached on foot. From the road a stone stairway of about sixty steps descends to the gate — there is no driveway, and no parking at the house itself. A porter meets every arrival and carries the luggage down, and the same happens in reverse when you leave.
We say this plainly because it shapes the stay. Those steps are the reason the villa is silent, the reason the terraces look out over nothing but sea, and the reason the coast road never reaches you. They are also the reason the house does not suit guests with difficulty walking or climbing stairs. If anyone in your party would find the descent hard, please tell us before booking and we will be honest with you about whether the villa is right.
Arrival and departure
Arriving earlier or leaving later is sometimes possible, depending on the villa's calendar and the staff's hours; there is a charge of EUR 150 and it needs to be arranged in advance. If a flight is delayed, telephone us — we would far rather know than have you hurry.
On arrival the manager or the concierge walks you through the house, shows you how everything works and leaves you the house book with every number you might need.
The rhythm of the days
The staff — a porter, a housekeeper, a gardener and a concierge — are part of the house rather than an addition to it, and the rate includes them.
The pool
The infinity pool looks straight out to sea, has a jacuzzi and is lit after dark. It is open all year, with twelve loungers and five parasols on the terrace around it. Heating can be arranged on request, at an extra charge, with two days' notice.
It is a private pool without a lifeguard, deeper than two metres at one end and not fenced. Children must have an adult with them whenever they are in it or near it, and we ask everyone to shower before going in. Bathing caps are not needed.
Children, dogs and smoking
Children are welcome and the house is well suited to families, provided the pool, the terraces and the stairways are treated with the care they deserve. There are two cots, two highchairs and a swing in the garden.
Small dogs are welcome on request — do tell us when you enquire, so we can prepare properly.
Smoking is not permitted indoors. The terraces and the garden are yours for that, and there are ashtrays throughout.
Celebrations
Weddings, anniversaries and private dinners are possible, and the villa has hosted many. They are arranged individually: tell us what you have in mind and we will quote for it. An event needs a stay of at least three nights, the event space is booked separately from the villa, and the number of guests is agreed with us in advance.
You are free to bring your own caterer, chef, planner or musicians. We ask to approve them beforehand and to see their insurance, and amplified music ends at midnight out of respect for the neighbours.
What the rate covers
The weekly rate includes electricity, water, heating, air conditioning and the final clean; the staff and the daily housekeeping; breakfast every morning and the welcome dinner; all linen and towels; the daily pool maintenance; the daily shuttle; and unlimited Wi-Fi.
Charged separately: pool heating, additional housekeeping hours, the event space, a grocery shopping service, our Comfort Package of ready-prepared meals, and the experiences we arrange for you, cooking and pizza classes, lemon-grove tours, boats. Unless we have agreed otherwise, extras are settled with us before you leave.
How a booking works
We strongly recommend travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses and personal property, for everyone in the party. It is the ordinary protection against the things none of us can foresee.

The short answers, in plain words
- Where exactly is Divino Maniero?
- Divino Maniero stands on the cliffside at Furore, on the Amalfi Coast, between Amalfi and Positano, about 350 metres above the sea. Amalfi is 8 km away and Positano 12 km; the village of Furore begins fifty metres from the gate.
- How do you get there, and which airport is nearest?
- Naples Capodichino (NAP) is the nearest airport, 56 km away and roughly an hour and a half by car; Salerno Costa d'Amalfi (QSR) is 52 km. Amalfi harbour is 8 km, with one villa shuttle each day. We arrange transfers for every arrival and recommend letting us do it, because the coast road is narrow and better enjoyed from the passenger seat.
- Can you drive to the door? Is there parking?
- No. The villa is reached on foot, down a stone stairway of about sixty steps from the road; there is no driveway and no parking at the house. - Is the villa suitable for guests who find stairs difficult?
- Honestly, no. The sixty steps down to the gate, and the stairways inside the house cut into the rock, make it unsuitable for anyone with difficulty walking or climbing. If someone in your party would find the descent hard, tell us before booking and we will say plainly whether the villa is right for you.
- How many people does the villa sleep?
- Up to 12 guests in 5 bedrooms with 7 bathrooms. The villa is let for exclusive use, one family or party at a time — it is never shared.
- What does the rate include?
- The rate includes electricity, water, heating, air conditioning and the final clean; the staff — a porter, a housekeeper, a gardener and a concierge — with daily housekeeping from 10:00 to 15:00; breakfast every morning from 08:00 to 11:00 and a welcome dinner on the evening you arrive; all linen and towels; daily pool maintenance; one daily minivan shuttle to Amalfi harbour; and unlimited Wi-Fi. Pool heating, extra housekeeping hours, the event space, grocery shopping, private chef and the experiences are charged separately. Rates are quoted on request.
- Is there a pool, and can it be heated?
- Yes: a panoramic infinity pool, 12 by 5 metres and 2.2 metres deep at one end, with a whirlpool area, twelve loungers and five parasols, lit after dark and open all year. Heating can be arranged on request for an extra charge, with two days' notice. It is a private pool with no lifeguard and no fence, so children must have an adult with them whenever they are in it or near it.
- Are children and dogs welcome?

- Yes. Weddings, symbolic ceremonies, vow renewals, birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, private dinners and corporate gatherings are all possible, and the villa has hosted many. An event requires a stay of at least three nights, the event space is booked separately from the villa, and the number of guests is agreed in advance. You may bring your own caterer, chef, planner or musicians, subject to our approval and their insurance; amplified music ends at midnight.
- What are the check-in and check-out times?
- Check-in is from 16:00 to 20:00 and check-out from 08:00 to 10:00, with Wednesday as the changeover day. Arriving earlier or leaving later is sometimes possible depending on the calendar, for a charge of EUR 150 arranged in advance.
- What is the minimum stay?
- Three nights, in every season. There is no obligation to book a full week.
- How do you book the villa?
- You write to us with your dates and the size of your party; we reply with a quotation and the full rental terms, including the payment schedule, cancellation terms, security deposit and house rules. A deposit confirms the dates and the balance follows before arrival. Italian law requires us to register every guest with the police within twenty-four hours of arrival, so we ask for names and identity documents.
